Enabling HTTPS on a UNIVIEW NVR

Modified on Tue, 16 Sep at 3:01 PM

Please note: Gigamedia cannot help you implement this protocol beyond activation. This requires a custom certificate, which cannot be done by Gigamedia.

  1. Accessing the NVR web interface:
    • Open a web browser.
    • Enter the IP address of the NVR in the address bar.
    • Log in with your admin credentials.
  2. Enable HTTPS:
    • Settings > System > Security > HTTPS tab.

    • Enable HTTPS.
    • You can generate a self-signed certificate or import a custom certificate if needed.
    • Click Save to save the changes.
  1. Reboot and secure access:
    • Once activated, the NVR can reboot.
    • You will then need to access the interface via https:// [IP address].

  1. Certificate verification:
    • If you are using a self-signed certificate, the browser will display a security alert. You can ignore it or install the certificate as a trusted authority.

Note: The default HTTPS port is 443. You are free to modify it or redirect this port if necessary.
