GGM WMESH1800KIT – Configuring the 2 Access Point Mesh KIT
The GGM WMESH1800KIT is a kit of 2 MESH access points consisting of a main unit and a remote unit. The remote unit automatically connects to the main unit to extend the Wi-Fi network.
When connecting a charging station, you have 2 possibilities to connect to it.
We recommend that you use a computer to set up:
- By connecting directly with an Ethernet cable to port 2 of the terminal
- By connecting to its WIFI network (SSID and Password printed on the label)
Once connected to the terminal, launch your WEB browser and use one of the following addresses on the URL bar:
On this web interface, you will need to enter the admin password and then access the installation wizard
The first step of the wizard is to choose the mode of the device. You will have the choice between:
- Mesh Wi-Fi router
This mode allows you to make the connection between 2 networks
- Mesh Access Point
This mode allows you to create a WIFI access point, so it retrieves the connection from the cable and will rebroadcast it on the WIFI network
-Wireless extender
This mode allows you to recover the connection from the WIFI and rebroadcast it (allows you to extend the WIFI connection)
-WISP
This mode uses one of the wireless router's WIFI connections like the WAN (Wide Area Network) to provide an internet connection to both wireless and wired devices.
The second step is to choose the time that corresponds to the time zone where you are (example in France: GMT+2)
Steps 3 and 4 will depend on the operating mode you are going to select.
Mesh Wi-Fi router
You must choose the protocol to define the connection type. You will have the choice between DHCP , PPPOE and IP STATIC.
The MTU is the maximum transmission unit; it defaults to 1500
Once step 3 is complete, you will be able to set the name displayed on the network as well as the password to connect to it.
Mesh Access Point
This step is an indication to connect the terminal to the WIFI networks with an ethernet cable.
Wireless extender
You need to choose the network you want to repeat and connect to it.
Once your network is selected, it will be displayed with the -EXT2G and -EXT5G extensions (corresponding to 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz networks), the password will be the same as the selected network
WISP
Just like the extension mode, you will have to select a network.
You will then be able to configure the name and password of the displayed networks
The last step is just a recap on the parameters indicated above.
