Prerequisites: Proper camera positioning is essential to perform the operations below. The orientation, height and distance between the camera and the vehicles must be observed depending on the camera model used.

1. Access to the web interface
- Connect to the camera's web interface via its IP address.
- Log in with administrator credentials. (admin/123456 default)
2. Define the detection area
- Go to Live View > Draw Detection Rule (Setup Wizard for the first use).
- Draw the blue area where vehicles will be detected.
- Adjust the red area so that it precisely frames the license plate.
- Use Zoom+/Zoom- to adjust the size to the plate.

3. Adjusting the exposure
- In Setup / Video & Audio and then Image, adjust the exposure for optimal playback at night:
- Recommended value: between 1/500 and 1/1000 depending on the scene.

4. Lists of vehicles:
- Setup menu , then Smart and the Vehicle List tab :
- Allowlist : Vehicles allowed (to open a barrier for example).
You will have the option to manually add a license plate and specify a start and end date.
It is also possible to import a list with a file (.csv format for example.)
- Blocklist : vehicules blocked
- Unidentified : Unrecognized vehicles.

5. Advanced Configuration
- In Live View and then Advanced, you will have the possibility to configure the direction of the vehicle for example:
- Entry / Exit / Both depending on the direction of traffic.
- Min. Pixelation
- Max. Pixelation

6. Video configuration for night vision :
1. Shutter / Exposure
Mode: Manual (not Auto)
Recommended shutter speed: between 1/500 s and 1/2000 s
The faster the vehicle moves, the higher the shutter speed should be (1/1000 – 1/2000).
For parking areas or low‑speed traffic, 1/500 is sufficient.
2. Gain (AGC)
Reduce the gain (set AGC to low or medium).
Too much gain results in noise and a halo effect on the license plate.
3. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range)
Disable WDR at night.
